With the way today's business world takes its toll, there are certain rules
and methods that would be enforced to make sure that an organization runs
smoothly and in order to the management style decided. Having said that, there
are various styles of management, four types in particular which are autocratic,
paternalistic, democratic and Laissez- faire.
Autocratic style of management enables a company to hold a consistent pattern
in decision, work and choices. This allows the company to build a confident
foundation without running out of the lines. An autocratic manager generally
likes the power of being in charge and usually forms close relationships with
those above them so that they can come to terms of agreement together and faster
as well. With the employee's best interest at hand, they will make the final
decision without the say of others.
Then comes paternalistic management style which gives more attention to the
employee's needs, forming more social relationships with them and taking time to
get to know them as well. The manager does make the final decision, but they
allow room for voices and opinions and generally look for feedback and
suggestions from their fellow workers. This style is closely related to
autocratic but takes care to tend to the opinions of others.
Besides that is the democratic management which is the most common is one of
the best there is. The key to democratic management is a good two way
communication as it focuses on encouraging team players to make decisions on
their own and form their own opinions. Usually, managers would play the roles of
leaders in this type of management.
Then comes the Laissez-faire management which wouldn't be the best styles of
management there is. Usually, the group would be divided into areas and leaders
will work on their own task while managing an open two way communication but
based on a very professional level only.
In a nutshell, when it comes to running a business, you need to pick the most
appropriate Management Style
